Onion Pie

I got this recipe from Ann Wahab many years ago. My grandmother always enjoyed my onion pies so I still make it in memory of her. |
Ingredients:
- 1 3/4 pound onions sliced thin (about 3 large onions) Sweet onions are great to use.
- 1 stick butter
- 3 eggs beaten
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- dash tabasco
- Parmesan cheese
- 2 Pastry shells (not deep dish)
Directions:
- Saute onions in butter until tender (Can be sauteed the day before)
- Combine eggs, sour cream, salt, pepper and tabasco. (Can be combined the day before. )
- Add to egg mixture to onions mixture,
- Pour into pie shells
- Top with Parmesan cheese
- Bake 450 degrees for 20 minutes and then 325 degrees for 20 minutes.
